W ramach niedawnego ogłoszenia upadłości Rite Aid planuje zamknąć 154 sklepy w całym kraju, w tym około 40 w rodzinnym stanie Pensylwania.

Sieć aptek wymieniła wszystkie lokalizacje przeznaczone do zamknięcia w złożonych we wtorek dokumentach sądu upadłościowego, ale nie ujawniła, kiedy każdy sklep zostanie zamknięty. W tym tygodniu firma Rite Aid ogłosiła upadłość w związku ze spadkiem sprzedaży i narastającymi procesami sądowymi związanymi z opioidami.

Firma podała we wtorek, że otrzymała nowe finansowanie o wartości 3,45 miliarda dolarów, które zostanie przeznaczone na utrzymanie pozostałych sklepów otwartych i utrzymanie wynagrodzeń pracowników do czasu postępu restrukturyzacji. Proces upadłości pomoże Rite Aid wyłonić się „jako silniejsza firma, dobrze przygotowana do długoterminowego sukcesu” – powiedział dyrektor generalny Jeffrey Stein.

Z dokumentów wynika, że w Kalifornii znajduje się około 30 sklepów, które mają zostać zamknięte. Inne lokalizacje Rite Aid, które zostaną zamknięte, znajdują się w stanach, w tym Maryland, Michigan, Nowym Jorku i Waszyngtonie.
